SEEKING OUTSTANDING VIOLINIST AND TRUMPET PLAYER
Lakewood's Beck Center for the Arts will be mounting an encore production of
Disney's Beauty and the Beast this December. Last year's violinist and
trumpet player have both left the Cleveland area. I need to fill these
positions for the upcoming run.
The production in 2005 sold to record houses and received critical acclaim
throughout the Northeastern Ohio media. With the return of the lead actors
and an ensemble spiced by many wonderful additions, this year's performance
promises to be even better. Please review the information below and let me
know if you would like to be a part of this year's production. THANKS!

REHEARSAL AND PRODUCTION DETAILS!
Orchestration: This version of the Beauty and the Beast orchestration is the
one used by touring companies and was scaled down from 22 musicians to 14.
As such, the parts are all technically demanding and require quite a bit
more playing stamina than a more typical Broadway release. Music will
arrive no later than November 10th. I will distribute it within the few
days following its arrival. Musicians are expected to fully prepare the
music prior to the first rehearsal.
The trumpet part calls for both trumpet and flugelhorn. Last year's player
also played piccolo trumpet on one section as it allowed for a more precise
sound in one particularly high and challenging section. The violin part has
several challenging passages and many exposed solos well up on the
fingerboard.
Orchestra Rehearsals: Friday, November 24 @ 7 pm and Saturday, November 25 @
2 pm
If we seem to be in good shape on Friday, I may cancel Saturday's rehearsal.
Tech Week: Monday, November 27 - Thursday, November 30. All tech
rehearsals will be from 6:30 pm till we get done (approx 11)

Compensation
The Beck Center pays $25/service (rehearsal, tech, and performance). For
this run, there are 20 performances, 4 tech rehearsals, and 1 or 2 orchestra
rehearsals. Total compensation for the run is: $650. Additionally, each
musician is entitled to four comp tickets (2 for opening night and 2 for any
other performance).
