bio
diesel truck. "The idea was to show Nathan the country, but we've kept =
going
longer than we expected because it's been such a wonderful experience," =

lead,
and the part we love best is following where we are led." There has been =
a
similiar awakening in his performances. "The gigs feel so much better
because my reasons for doing what i do have become clearer," he =

tune into what's unique about each night, each room of people in front =

=93Asleep at the Wheel is a Grammy winning Western Swing band led by Ray
Benson. They have won Grammys in each of the last four decades. Since =
the
early '70s, Asleep at the Wheel has been a most important force in =
keeping
the sound of Western swing alive. In reviving the freewheeling, eclectic
sensibility of Western swing godfather Bob Wills, the Wheel earned
enthusiastic critical praise throughout their lengthy career; they not =
only
preserved classic sounds that had all but disappeared from country =
music,
but were also able to update the music, keeping it a living, breathing =
art
form. Typically featuring 8-11 musicians, the group has gone through =
myriad
personnel changes (at last count, over 80 members had passed through =
their
ranks), but 6'7" frontman Ray Benson has held it together for over three
decades, keeping Asleep at the Wheel a viable recording and touring =
concern
and maintaining their devotion to classic-style Western swing. Since the
release of its first album in 1974, Asleep at the Wheel has remained
steadfast in its devotion to the music of Bob Wills and other Western =
Swing
greats of the past. Best-known as a killer live act, Asleep at the Wheel
also produce quality studio albums with the unfortunate tendency to go =
out
of print quickly. Get 'em while you can!=94

Stark ACT 2

Visit www.starkact.com <http://www.starkact.com/> to become a sponsor,
volunteer, participating venue, or performer!

Stark Arts Coming Together (Stark ACT), a grassroots committee of =
volunteers
and arts advocates, is excited to announce that the second annual Stark
County Arts Week celebration, Stark ACT 2, will be held April 13 - 22, =
2007.
The event was created in 2006 to raise awareness of the arts, increase
participation in the arts and build connections between the arts and the
community. =20

=93It was a challenge bringing together a first-ever county-wide event =
like
this, but ACT 1 was a real success," said Barbara Rosenberg, president =
of
Stark Arts Coming Together. "So many individuals and organizations
participated this year and shared in a true spectrum of artistic and
creative activities. Based on our first-year success, we're confident =
that
next year=92s event will be even bigger and better, as other, new
organizations take the opportunity to participate and add their =
arts-related
activity to the ten-day county-wide arts celebration."

Stark County residents of all ages are encouraged to participate as
performers, audience members and/or volunteers. Stark ACT1, held in =
April
2006, featured over 100 arts events in Stark County in a nine-day =
period.
All art forms were represented, including many genres of music concerts,
dance and theatre performances, spoken word gatherings, workshops, and
visual arts exhibits and demonstrations. Mayors Janet Weir Creighton of
Canton, Toni Middleton of Alliance and Francis Cicchinelli of Massillon =
were
the Honorary Chairpersons.

Schools of all levels, youth groups, social service or youth =
organizations,
and houses of worship, are encouraged to participate in Stark ACT 2.
Restaurants, nursing homes, hospitals, and businesses are encouraged to =
host
musicians, performers, or storefront art displays. Creative ideas for
incorporating the arts into the community are welcomed.
