Oberlin Baroque Orchestra Performs Nov. 12 at the Oberlin =20
Conservatory of Music

OBERLIN, OHIO (November 6, 2006)=97The Oberlin Baroque Orchestra, an =20
elite period-instrument ensemble of the Oberlin Conservatory of =20
Music, will present a free concert on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 8 p.m. in =20
Warner Concert Hall. The program features Bach=92s Brandenburg =20
Concertos No. 3 and 4, works by Telemann and Vivaldi, and dances from =20=

Terpsichore by the early 17th-century composer Michael Praetorius.

The Oberlin Baroque Orchestra consists of 29 student members =20
performing on an array of period instruments, including strings, =20
flutes, recorders, trumpets, harpsichords, and sackbuts (a type of =20
early trombone). Since its inception in 2004, Jeannette Sorrell =9192, =20=

Music Director of Apollo=92s Fire, the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra, has =20=

led the group that showcases the Conservatory=92s renowned historical =20=

performance division. Students enjoy the luxury of performing on =20
instruments from Oberlin=92s outstanding period-instrument collection, =20=

as well as studying with its expert faculty.

Warner Concert Hall is located in the Conservatory at 77 W. College =20
