ATTN.:
Our group is involved in creating a social-issue film/docudrama called
"Mama's Plan."
We are based in Akron, OH. We are still looking for actors and actresses
to fill more roles in our film. We need experienced, dependable people
with reliable transportation.
Some of the following roles are:
* Charlie Charleston - a 17 yr. old Caucasian Harvard law
student; who is
handsome and mature (person can be older, but look the part)
* Two (2) male policemen
* A few outraged female inmates in a prison
* Two (2) prison male guards
* 1 or 2 EMT (ambulance) drivers
* Two (2) "johns" (while the girl is struggling to survive on
the streets)
- one older, one middle aged businessman
* Joelyn Harris - waitress in Nellie's Diner/Coffee Shop
* Door-to-door salesman (one scene only)
* Many extras (for variety of scenes)

âHer name was Lolaâ â the unforgettable opening of Barry Manilowâs Grammy award-winning
hit song, COPACABANA is the inspiration for this exciting and passionate new musical
â a captivating tale of love and romance set amidst the swinging nightclub scene
of the 1940âs.
NEEDED: Large Cast, Dancers and Singers
ALL ROLES ARE OPEN, COLOR BLIND CASTING, NO EQUITY PLEASE
Men and women ages 16 and up who are able to sing, dance and act.
Excellent character roles for both men and women.
Please prepare 2 songs â 1 up-tempo and 1 ballad, 32 bars each. Please
bring music in correct key with accompaniment . No a capella or CDâs.
Be prepared to move â the dance combination will be taught only once at
the start of the audition.
The Characters:
Stephen A young songwriter, who doubles as Tony in 1947
Samantha Stephenâs wife, who doubles as Lola La Mar in 1947
Tony Forte Young, good-looking and talented. A struggling songwriter
by day, by night heworks at the Copacabana.
Lola La Mar A young, pretty girl with misguided ambitions to become a Broadway
star
Gladys Murphy A cheeky, warm-hearted cigarette girl at the Copacabana
Sam Silver The gruff but kind manager of the Copacabana
Rico Castelli An elegant but dangerous gangster who manages The Tropicana
in Havana
Conchita Alvarez A Latina beauty and Ricoâs long-suffering partner/girlfriend
McManus A New York cop
Willie A waiter at the Copacabana
Skip The house choreographer at the Copacabana
Maitre Dâ Host of the Copacabana
Mr. Brill Music publisher

The Bang & The Clatter Theatre Company announces auditions for Neil LaBute's "Fat Pig."
Synopsis:
Tom meet Helen, an overweight librarian. They are perfect for each other, but Tom's friends call her a "fat pig." Can he be happy with what he's found, or will he succumb to judging on surface appearances?
