OYB PERFORMS HOLIDAY CELEBRATION OF DANCE 2006

CANAL FULTON -- The Ohio Youth Ballet presents Act II of the timeless ballet
"The Nutcracker," along with other dances, on Sunday, Dec. 3 during its
Holiday Celebration of Dance 2006 at Northwest High School's Puffenberger
Hall in Canal Fulton.

"In America, it's a big thing -- it's a great experience," says Inna
Stabrova, who first performed in "The Nutcracker" on stage at age 13 in St.
Petersburg with the School of the Kirov Ballet.

Stabrova and her husband, Dmitry Tuboltsev, are co-artistic directors of the
non-profit ballet company, housed at The Turning Pointe School of Dance in
Canal Fulton. Stabrova is a national award-winning teacher and former
principal dancer with The Leningrad Ballet Theatre, and Tuboltsev is a
former principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet.

The Pas de Deux will be performed by OYB member and Jackson High senior
Laura Irion, who will partner with guest dancer John Mark Giragosian from
the Maryland Youth Ballet. Giragosian recently received a prestigious 2006
Princess Grace Award.

Members of the pre-professional dance company are from Jackson, Washington,
Hoover, Glen Oak and Padua Franciscan high schools. OYB apprentices also
hail from local schools.

Audience members will be in for quite a show Dec. 3 with a different
variation of the Arabian dance, and the lead roles have been choreographed
to highlight the dancers' strengths.

"I do a different choreography," Stabrova said. "It's a different approach."

Also, other dancers from The Turning Pointe School of Dance have been
invited to do a variety of dances during the show ranging from breakdancing
to Irish step.

The show starts at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for children 10
years and younger. Pre-sale tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children.
Call Terry Irion at (330) 854-1417, or e-mail
ohioyouthballet at uponpointe.org. VISA or MasterCard accepted.
