(Satire) By Karani Marcia Leslie Directed by Tony Sias Jelliffe Theatre

This play was voted one of the top ten Off Broadway plays, this bristling
political satire puts racial stereotypes on trial-literally! A young
professional African American files a law suit against two negative images
of Black women: Mammy and the sexually licentious, Safreeta Mae. The
courtroom satire uses humor and history to get to the truth of the images
African Americans face daily.
(Contains Adult Themes, Content and Language Parental Guidance Suggested).

TUESDAY, December 12 @ 6:30pm & THURSDAY, December 14 @ 6:30pm
And SATURDAY, December 16 @ 10:30AM
MUST PREPARE A MONOLOGUE
6 black females and 1 black male (may play other male parts listed)
VICTORIA MARIE DRYER: black, ageless character, but, played well by woman
late thirties, strives to be socialite, cut above the rest attitude,
subtext of isolation and ashamed
THE PROSECUTOR: black, age irrelevant, she's a shrewd competitor, stays on
in circle of well-to-do blacks and whites
THE DEFENSE (Zora): black, very afro centric, loves a good debate, well
read on history and race relations
SAFREETA MAE: black, must be young, very sexy, nineteen to twenty-five,
uneducated but bright, not a tragic mulatto
MAMMY LOUISE: black, age fifty, the usual Mammy
THE JUDGE (Mabel Wilson): black, straight from the projects, worked her way
up, no nonsense and demands respect
LEROI JOHNSON: black, he is confident, smooth, calculating, product of the
eighties me generation, would climb the ladder of success and once on top,
set it on fire and take the ashes with him.

Subject: [NEohioPAL]Marilyn Monroe and/or "Bad Santa" needed PAID
Message-ID: <17170322.1165431134977.JavaMail.root at elwamui-ovcar.atl.sa.earthlink.net>
I have a client looking for a Marilyn impersonator to flirt and schmooze, and possibly someone to dress up and do the "Bad Santa" character from the movie for a Company party (small, about 50 people) on Dec. 14th from 6-7 pm in Cleveland.
Please reply with photo and/or bio/resume of experience. Thanks!
Leigh
