PLAYHOUSE SQUARE CENTER ANNOUNCES=20

"LAUNCH," A NEW PROGRAM TO FOSTER=20

PERFORMANCE CREATION AMONG NORTHEAST OHIO ARTISTS

=20

=20

Cleveland, OH - The Playhouse Square Center (PSC) Arts Education
Department is pleased to announce that proposals are now being accepted
from Northeast Ohio artists for a new series of performance creation
residences entitled "Launch." These residencies are designed to support
invention and innovation in performance and to foster new relationships
between local artists and the public.

=20

Launch is modeled on a successful program created by the Harbourfront
Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hatch). Playhouse Square Center is
the first performing arts center in the United States to adopt a similar
model.

=20

"We are moving in a bold, new direction with Launch," said Colleen
Porter, PSC director of arts education, "When I saw this program at
Harbourfront, I thought it was an interesting and innovative way for a
performing arts center to invest in the development of new work and in
local artists. I felt very strongly that this was something Playhouse
Square should be doing, so we have worked over the past year to
structure the program in a way that makes sense for us and for the
Northeast Ohio artistic community."

=20

Proposals are now being accepted for two week-long Launch residencies in
spring 2007: April 2-8 and June 4-10. Through a selection process, one
company or artist will be selected for each Launch week. Each residency
package includes:

*	One rent-free week (Monday - Sunday) in the Westfield Insurance
Studio Theatre
*	Subsidy to cover basic production staff costs, in-house
production coordination; advance ticket sales and in-house ticket office
services
*	Media relations assistance and marketing support

Artists selected for Launch are required to present at least one
performance to the public during the week.

=20

The Arts Education Department is seeking proposals from:

*	Professional performance creators from Northeast Ohio at any
stage in their careers who are able to demonstrate prior artistic
endeavors and a clear artistic mandate
*	Companies/artists from diverse communities whose work in
contemporary in nature
*	Artists who are committed to the development of contemporary,
inventive and creative performance-based work.

=20

Proposals are due by 5:00 PM on January 26, 2007. An application form
is available online at www.PlayhouseSquare.org/arts-education. For more
information, interested artists may contact Sara Tan, education program
manager, at 216.348.7910 or by email to sarat at playhousesquare.org.

Subject: [NEohioPAL]2nd correction to Berko review: JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (Playhouse
 Square Center)
Message-ID: <22934815.1165506034681.JavaMail.root at mswamui-swiss.atl.sa.earthlink.net>

Not to add injury to insult but another correction is worth noting.

Corey Glover was not in fact a mamber of the TV show "In Living Color", the early 90's varity show brain child of Keenen Ivory Wayans with comedians such as James Carrey (now known as Jim), Tommy Davidson, Kim Coles, David Alan Grier, T'keyah "Crystal" Keymah and finally his siblings Kim Wayans and Damon Wayans.

Corey Glover was in fact a member of the late 80's metal band "Living Color" which earned numerous industry awards including back-to-back Grammys for Best Hard Rock Performance of 1989 ('Cult of Personality') and 1990 (Time's Up).

Just thought you might like to know.
