TrueNorth Cultural Arts presents “A TrueNorth Christmas” Concert Weekend
featuring the TrueNorth Chorale and Symphony under the direction of Richard
A. Fortney. The Christmas Concerts will take place on Friday, December 15th
in the Westlake High School Auditorium located at 27830 Hilliard Blvd. (1/2
mile west of Dover Center) in Westlake and Saturday, December 16th at Avon
Lake United Church of Christ located at 32801 Electric Blvd. (1/10 mile west
of Rt. 83) in Avon Lake. Both concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. with the doors
opening at 6:45 p.m.

The TrueNorth Christmas Concert will feature over 100 TrueNorth musicians
and artists … dancers, actors, and visual artists, instrumental and vocal
soloists, The TrueNorth Chorale, Community Chorus and Symphony.

Acclaimed Vocalist Leah Crocetto and Pianist Todd Schreiber will be
performing throughout the evening. Leah and Todd sing with TrueNorth
soprano Kristen Jones and Director Rick Fortney in the Canterbury Singers, a
group based out of the USA who travel to England annually singing and
serving as resident artists within its’ various Cathedrals. New Years Eve
2005 they led EvenSong at St. Paul’s Cathedral followed by leading in Mass
New Year’s Day Worship at Westminster Abbey. Ms. Crocetto, amazing vocal
stylist in any genre, currently resides in New York City where she sings
professionally, recently performing her debut solo rectal at Weil Recital
Hall at Carnegee Hall. Todd Schreiber is the Co-Director of BGSU and
Muskingum College Summer Musical Theatre Camps and is a “much sought after"
Accompanist, Music Director and Vocal Coach throughout Northwest Ohio and
Southeast Michigan.

Two Reader’s Theatre pieces will be shared. The first is entitled The
Christmas Truce and is an account of the most remarkable incidents of World
War I and perhaps of all military history. Starting in some places on
Christmas Eve and in others on Christmas Day, the truce covered as much as
two-thirds of the British-German front, with thousands of soldiers taking
part. Perhaps most remarkably, it grew out of no single initiative but
sprang up in each place spontaneously and independently. Nearly everything
described is drawn from first-hand accounts in letters and diaries of the
time. The other reading will be The Night before Christmas.

TrueNorth’s Performance Dance Ensemble will be dancing to Schubert’s Ave
Maria, played by Harpist Ceci Ilg-McKay and Cellist Dan Hild.

The TrueNorth Jr. Symphony, TrueNorth Chorale, Community Chorus and Symphony
will be sharing Carols and Holiday favorites of the season, led by Mr.
Fortney and Symphony Director James Traxler. This diverse celebration
promises to be fun and geared toward the entire family. This is the 8th
year TrueNorth has performed its’ Christmas Concerts.

Tickets are $8 in advance and $5 for students/seniors and can be purchased
through any TrueNorth Musician or through the TrueNorth Gallery located at
33491 Lake Road, Avon Lake; just west of Moore Road located in the Old
Saddle Inn. Gallery hours are 12noon-7pm, Monday-Friday and 9am-4pm on
