SPOTLIGHTS AUDITION NOTICE:  MESSIAH ON THE FRIGIDAIRE

The Broadview Heights Spotlights Community Theater will be holding open
auditions for its upcoming Coffee House production, Messiah on the
Frigidaire.  Director Bob Kmiecik is seeking adult performers for most
roles; one child will be cast.  Auditions will be held Sunday, January 7
from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and Monday, January 8 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM.  Auditions
will take place at the Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Building, located on
the Broadview Center campus (9543 Broadview Road - 1/2 mi. South of Rt. 82).
Readings from the script will be provided; auditioners should be prepared to
speak with a Southern (i.e., South Carolina) accent.  

Messiah on the Frigidaire is a comedy that tells the tale of a small-town
couple whose lives take a drastic turn when a miracle appears in the
strangest of places: on the door of their brand new refrigerator.  All roles
are available and include: Lou Ann and Dwayne Hightower, the couple at the
center of the show (late 20s-30s); Betsy, the Hightower's trashy-delicious
neighbor (late 20s- 30s); Larry, a cocky and condescending small-town
politician (late 20s-30s); Reverend Cecil Hodges, a holier-than-thou
preacher (40+); and other small roles.  The show calls for three women, four
men, and one child (age 8-12) to be cast.   

Messiah on the Frigidaire is written by new playwright John Culbertson; the
Spotlights' production will be the show's Greater Cleveland area premiere.
Performance dates are Fridays and Saturdays, March 9-24, with a matinee
performance slated for Sunday, March 18.
