Opening Reception of =E2=80=9CWandering Paths=E2=80=9D (fine art =
photography by Michele Cimprich)

The Little Art Gallery of the North Canton Public Library, 185 North =
Main Street, North Canton, Ohio 44720 phone (330) 499-4712

Michele Cimprich, of Canton, is a Notre Dame graduate, having majored in =
photography and graphic design. After working in a commercial photo =
studio for a few years, she decided to pursue her own photographic =
vision. She has since been displaying her work in exhibits and sales =
shows for over 10 years, winning many awards throughout Ohio and =
neighboring states. Her signed, limited edition photos are silver =
gelatin prints, which she then hand-tones with selenium or sepia. Some =
prints are further hand-tinted with oil paint. Michele then searches =
out antique frames in which to house her photos. Michele=E2=80=99s =
artistic vision is best expressed in her own words: =E2=80=9CI have been =
drawn to forgotten, weathered and abandoned places and objects as long =
as I can remember. There is a sense of peace and beauty in the solitude =
of these things that I try to capture in my photographs. Knowing that =
someone once lived, loved and persevered in these homes, their gardens, =
and other structures evokes a reverence in me. I have a deep =
appreciation for the fragile existence of all things and their =
connection to the earth through their growth, death and decay with the =
passage of time. I have found my interest in the abandoned and the =
natural surroundings of such places to provide me with a wealth of =
photographic opportunities. I enjoy the presence of these places and =
wonder about their unknown or usually forgotten legacies.=E2=80=9D =
Exhibit on view through February 4, . Gallery Hours: Mon.-Thurs. 9-9, =
Fri. 9-6, Sat. 9-5, Sun. 1-5. Admission is Always Free!=20
