The  Serious Business of Comedy (9th grade =E2=80=93 Adult)
Instructor: Andrew  May
Two Sessions
Saturday and Sunday, January 20 & 21,  2007, 1:00 =E2=80=93 4:00pm
Fee: $60

A two day intensive study comprised and  guided by Andrew May, where the=20
actor realizes a comic character (of his/her  choice) by examining the comed=
ic=20
rule of three:=20
1) How to define the world  of the script.
2) How the character fits into that defined world.
3) How  the character tragically struggles within that world to comic effect=
.
Andrew  finds multiple ways to keep the actor in character and the audience=20
in  stitches.
Required: Prepare a comic monologue from a genre of your  choosing.
