The Children=92s Theatre at TrueNorth Is Pleased to Announce its All-=20
new Winter Session for 2007
The Children=92s Theatre at TrueNorth Cultural Arts Center in Avon =20
Lake, announces winter classes beginning January 6th, 2007. The =20
classes offered during this session have all been lengthened from 7-=20
weeks to 10- and 12-week sessions culminating in a live performance =20
at TrueNorth.
Theatre through Imagination is an introduction to the world of =20
theatre for students ages 6 through 11. Young people will discover =20
theater in different ways; experiencing everything from performance =20
basics to creative acting techniques. This class will focus on fairy =20
tales and begins on January 13th. It will meet each Saturday from =20
1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., except for March 17th (St. Patrick=92s Day).
Shakespeare 101 is designed for returning students who have expressed =20=
an interest in expanding their performance repertoire. Whether =20
interested in pursuing a career in theatre, or just as an opportunity =20=
to have fun, students will be personally coached and will perform A =20
Midsummer Night=92s Dream at the conclusion of their classes. =20
Shakespeare 101 begins January 6th, and will meet each Saturday =20
through the week of March 25th. This class is open to returning =20
students ages 9 through 11 and all students ages 12 through 18.
Performances for both classes will take place on Friday, March 30th =20
as a part of the Children=92s Showcase of programming at the TrueNorth =20=
Cultural Arts Center.
The instructors also offer a variety of workshops and private =20
lessons. Dates and times can be arranged by contacting the =20
instructors directly. Students enrolled in workshops and private =20
lesions will also have an opportunity to perform at the Children=92s =20
Showcase.
The Children=92s Theatre at TrueNorth is a program designed to help =20
young people discover theatre and to experience the performing arts. =20
Instructors teach children ages 6-18 years of age, and provide =20
opportunities to participate in all aspects of theatre.
TrueNorth Cultural Arts is a multi-disciplinary arts organization =20
committed to building and strengthening individuals and the community =20=
through the performing arts, the visual arts, and the humanities. =20
TrueNorth's vision is two-fold: To educate, equip, and empower =20
individuals so they can embrace and succeed in the creative arts, and =20=
