Cleveland Public Theatre Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan is
proud to present Sleep Deprivation Chamber by Adrienne Kennedy and Adam
P. Kennedy.

While nationally acclaimed playwright Adrienne Kennedy was in rehearsal
at Cleveland's Ohio Theatre, her son was beaten by police and charged
with assaulting an officer. Sleep Deprivation Chamber follows her
sleepless nights and her son's fight for justice.

Sleep Deprivation Chamber is an Obie award winning work by the mother
and son team of Adrienne and Adam Kennedy. Based on an actual
experience, Sleep Deprivation Chamber depicts the emotional devastation
of police brutality and the criminal justice system on a highly
educated, middle class black family. Each CPT performance will be
followed by moderated panel discussions featuring distinguished scholars
and professionals. CPT is partnering with the Cleveland State University
Black Studies Department and the Cleveland NAACP to coordinate and plan
these important post-show discussions.
