CLEVELAND JAZZ ORCHESTRA concert gala
(Cleveland, Ohio) On March 14th at the Palace Theatre, 8PM, Cleveland Jazz Orchestra (CJO), directed by Jack Schantz, will be featured in a performance with a guest artist with the following credentials:
Nominated for Tonys, Grammys and Emmys for performing and songwriting, including both a Best Actress and a Best Score nomination for her work in “Swing!” on Broadway
Has recorded numerous albums of jazz and standards, three of which have gone platinum
Has appeared with the Jazz at Lincoln Center, Boston Pops, Philly Pops, BBC Big Band, played Carnegie Hall and the Philharmonic Hall in Berlin
Wrote a song for Barbara Streisand to sing at her wedding
Is the only composer to have written a melody to lyrics by Cole Porter
Appears and sings in the film, “The Good Shepherd”
Has a three-octave range and actually sounds great in all three
