Lorain County Children's Pioneer Theatre is a fun and enriching
opportunity for students entering Grades K-12 (in the fall of 2007) to
have experience with and develop their skills in many aspects of live
theatre. Prior theatre experience is _not_ a requirement for our
program. The Workshop Program strives to develop not only
theatre-related skills, but also focuses on creative and instructional
activities that are an important part of our program. Self-expression,
imagination, social awareness, human understanding, learning to work
with others and better speech habits are just a few of the values taught
through the creative process. The basic goal of our program is to teach
the student, through the art of theatre, how to deal with everyday
situations with increased confidence, poise, maturity and
responsibility. The curriculum provides classes in acting techniques,
vocal music, stage makeup, theatre movement, pantomime, voice and
diction, techniques of rehearsing and performing, improvisation and more.
