Something new for the weight conscious and the weight self-conscious is =
on the horizon.  It is called Health At Every Size (HAES) and is a =
concept which looks at the whole person, not at her dress size or his =
belt size. It is new because it recognizes some facts which many in the =
scientific community do not recognize.  It acknowledges what people who =
have dieted more than once already know: dieting does not work.  Weight =
loss is an illusion and a delusion.  HAES has been tested by scientists =
and is found to work for improving blood pressure, blood sugar and blood =
cholesterol levels. It makes people feel good, physically and =
emotionally. It puts people in control of their health.  Isn't that the =
bottom line for healthy living?=20

Premiere - The Rise and Fall of the YWCA of Summit County
Tuesday, Feb. 13, 6:30 p.m.

This new documentary tells the story of the YWCA of Summit County - the =
oldest and largest governed by women in Akron. The organization was =
voted out of existence in 2005, after 105 years.  Almost two years in =
the making, the documentary features historians, former YWCA =
administrators (many speaking on the record for the first time), and =
members. The hour-long documentary will be followed by a =
question-and-answer period with the entire creative production team, =
including WAPS personality Heather Burns. The documentary was =
underwritten by grants from the Ohio Humanities Council, the faculty =
research committee at The University of Akron and WITAN. The premiere is =
sponsored by the Akron-Summit County Public Library, PBS channels 45/49, =
Ohio Humanities Council, and The University of Akron's College of Fine =
and Applied Arts and the School of Communication.=20

An all day series of workshops focused on "women supporting women."

Currently the Women Spirit committee is looking for presenters.  You =
must be a member of a Unitarian Universalist Church to present.  Day =
will be open to all to attend.  All presented must register ($45). If =
