Hudson Players to Hold General Meeting & Big Band Concert - Sunday, =
March 11th at 6 p.m.
Attendance is Free and Open To All
February 28, 2007, Hudson, OH - The Hudson Players are inviting all =
those interested in the theater (or even those just curious) to come out =
to their general meeting on March 11, 2007 at 6 p.m. at the Barlow =
Community Center in Hudson. Attendance is free and open to all. The =
meeting will offer a great opportunity to learn more about community =
theater, to hear and learn about volunteer opportunities within the =
Players, and to review the current season and hear the unveiling of the =
groups forthcoming 2007-08 Season. Great entertainment will also be =
provided as attendees will also be treated to a free concert by Chris =
White and the Bodkin Big Band.=20

The meeting promises to be fun, informative and fast paced. The Hudson =
Players have stated that they hope the format "offers those curious =
about the players a fun, informative way to learn more about the all =
volunteer theater group". "We can always use people who would like to =
help out on set, publicity, costumes, fundraising, props, lights and =
more in addition to being on stage. It's a great way to feed your =
creative side and make new friends. Most importantly folks can be =
involved regardless of the amount of time they have to commit. Putting =
even a single poster up helps"

It also will offer current and past players members the opportunity =
before and after the meeting to record their favorite memories for an =
upcoming documentary on the Hudson Players being produced by Christopher =
Dolciato. (Those wishing to participate will be asked to relate their =
favorite memory, tell what they think is special or memorable about =
their involvement and share how long they've been involved and in what =
ways.) However, being a current or past member is not required to attend =
and hear the great Bodkin Big Band - a 20-piece jazz/big band featuring =
music of every genre from 40's swing all the way through today. The band =
and their vocalist, Chris White, will perform songs from Broadway, jazz, =
swing, and many more.=20

The Bodkin Big Band was formed in 1996. The band was originally put =
together for a dance at the Bodkin's church and everyone had so much fun =
that they decided to keep the group together. The band is comprised of =
20 musicians, mainly music educators, high school/college students, and =
adult musician hobbyists. The band is led by husband-wife duo Jeff & =
Debbie Bodkin. The Bodkin Big Band has performed at various venues =
including First Night Akron, Wilmot Wilderness Center, Porthouse =
Theater, and many other places. They will now add Hudson and the Hudson =
Players' general meeting to the list. This is a great opportunity to see =
a high quality big band for free and to learn more about a Hudson =
theater tradition.

The Hudson Players are one of the area's longest running community =
theaters. With a rich history of great shows, community involvement and =
an ultra-friendly performing environment the group embodies its =
unofficial slogan of "good shows, good friends, good times. All members =
are volunteer and the group is open to all.

The general meeting will be immediately followed by auditions for "Run =
For Your Wife" at 7:30 p.m. More information on the meeting, the concert =
and auditions is available by calling 330-655-8522 or by emailing =
info at hudsonplayers.com or visiting the Players website at =
www.hudsonplayers.com.

The Hudson Players are located right in the heart of Hudson, Ohio in the =
Barlow Community Center. From the North, simply exit 480 at Rt. 91 in =
Twinsburg and head south. Take a left on Rt. 303 (just past the =
clocktower) and a right on Oviatt St. The Barlow Community Center will =
be on the left hand side just a block down the road. From the South, =
exit Rt. 8 at the 303 exit and head east (right). After you head through =
the center of town, make a right onto Oviatt St. The Barlow Community =
Center will be on the left hand side just a block down the road.
