TrueNorth Cultural Arts will be presenting “A Lenten Journey Through The 
Arts” on Saturday, March 31st at 7:30 p.m. at the Avon Lake United Church of 
Christ located at 32801 Electric Blvd. in Avon Lake.

The concert will feature the TrueNorth Chorale and Symphony performing Lux 
Aeterna by Morten Lauridsen. In addition, the TrueNorth Community Chorus, 
Junior Symphony, TrueNorth Drama Troupe, Dance Performing Ensemble and TNCA 
Visual Artists will also be performing. The TrueNorth Community Chorus will 
be performing Shadows of the Cross by Joseph M. Martin and will be joined by 
Avon Lake St. Joseph, Bay Village St. Barnabas and Avon Lake United Church 
of Christ church choirs.

Lux Aeterna, premiered in 1997, has become perhaps the most frequently 
performed modern American choral work. Composed for and dedicated to the Los 
Angeles Master Chorale (which recorded it first in 1998 and received a 
Grammy Award for its effort), the work is in five movements played without 
pause. Its texts are drawn from sacred Latin sources, each containing 
references to light.

In classic TrueNorth style, the evening’s performance will be much more than 
a concert; in fact it will unfold as a celebration of the arts; a delicate 
interplay between various art disciplines each contributing to the thematic 
mood of the evening.

Tickets are $8 in advance and $5 for students/seniors and can be purchased 
through any TrueNorth musician or through the TrueNorth Gallery located at 
33491 Lake Road, Avon Lake next to the Avon Lake Theater. Gallery hours are 
12noon-7pm, Monday-Friday and 9am-4pm on Saturday. Tickets will also be 
available at the door for $10 or $8 for students/seniors. Further
