PARADE the CIRCLE!

The Beck Center for the Arts will be participating in Parade the Circle
on Saturday, June 9th at University Circle.  We are inviting members of
the arts community to join us for a series of free workshops to prepare
our entry and march with us in the parade. =20

The theme for our entry is "Vive le Artist" which celebrates the
creative excellence of 20th century artists and draws on the styles that
exemplify artists such as Picasso, Degas and Freda Kahlo.  Local artists
Stephen Chipps, Susan Gallagher and Nancy Cintron will lead the
workshops and guide interested families and individuals to create
personal expressions of this theme.

Participants can choose to make larger-than-life puppets, individually
designed masks and/or body decorations, costumes, banners, and simple
instruments they will wear and play during their participation in Parade
the Circle.

The workshops are free.  The per person entry fee to participate in the
parade is $5.  (Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult for
both the workshops and the parade.)

The workshops have five different themes and are scheduled as follows:
