Spring Class Offerings

Creative Movement (ages 3-4)
March 29-May 17, 2007
Thursdays
4:00pm-4:45pm
Cost: $75 per eight week session
Instructor: Rebecca Pavlock

Course Description: The class is a combination of the basic dance =20
steps and movements used in ballet, tap, and jazz.  Students will have =20
fun stretching their imaginations while learning to dance.  Self =20
expression through music and movement will form the basis for further =20
dance study.
Dress code: pink tights, pink or black leotards, tap and jazz shoes =20
which you can purchase inexpensively at Payless.

Beginning Dance (ages 5-6)
March 29-May 17, 2007

Cost: $90 per eight week session
Instructor: Rebecca Pavlock

Course Description: The class is a combination of beginner ballet, =20
tap, and jazz that will prepare the students for more advanced dance =20
classes.  Students will learn a variety of dance steps, some basic =20
choreography and preliminary vocabulary.  Creativity and individuality =20
will be encouraged. Dress code: pink tights, pink or black leotards, =20
tap and jazz shoes which you can purchase inexpensively at Payless.


Ballet I (ages 7-9)

Course Description: Students will work on ballet technique (including =20
poise, alignment, and grace) and terminology will be taught.  There =20
will be an emphasis on barre, center work, and basic choreography. =20

Beginner Adult and Teen (Jazz and Tap)
March 30-May 18, 2007

Cost: $90 per eight week session

Course Description: This class is designed for ages 16 and up.  =20
Students with little or no dance experience will learn the basic =20
techniques and terminology of Jazz and Tap.  This is a great way to =20
get in your weekly exercise and have fun learning a new talent.  Dress =20
code: solid color jazz pants, tight fitting tank top or leotard in a =20
solid color, and jazz and tap shoes (Capezios Dance stores or Discount =20
Dance Supply online to purchase)

a solid foundation for more advanced classes. Beginner dancers need =20
little or no prior dance experience and will be provided basic and =20
fundamental training in Tap. Intermediate dancers with prior =20
experience will gain a stronger understanding of the lower level =20
techniques and terminology.  Dress Code: pink tights, pink or black =20
leotards, tap and jazz shoes which you can purchase inexpensively at =20

Storybook Theater (ages 7-10)
March 27-May 26, 2007
Tuesdays and Thursdays
5:00pm-6:00pm
Cost: $195 per session
Instructor: Michael Green
Course Description: Students will rehearse a performance of a popular =20
story or fable and then perform it at the end of the eight week =20
session.  Basic acting techniques will also be taught through =20
improvisational exercises and a variety of acting games.  Possible =20
performance venues include our theater space and also a library, local =20
nursing home, or special needs children's home.  Performances will be =20
held May 25 and 26th.

Acting Out (ages 10-12)
March 31-May 19, 2007

Cost: $175 per eight week session
Instructor: Michael Green

Course Description: Students will develop their acting skills through =20
a variety of acting exercises.  Students will work on a monologue and =20
a scene during the course of this class.

Monologue Study (ages 13-18)
March 29-May 17, 2007

5:00pm-6:30pm
Cost: $175 per session
Instructor: Pierre Brault

Course Description: This class is for any level of experience.  The =20
beginning actors will learn the fundamentals of acting through a =20
variety of acting exercises and monologue work.  Intermediate and =20
advanced actors will continue their growth as actors through monologue =20
work and more advanced acting exercises.  The teacher will emphasis =20
individual levels and work with each student to meet their needs from =20
the class.  Students interested in performing in the spring and summer =20
youth productions at Acting Out are strongly encouraged to enroll in =20
this class.  Those students cast in the spring teen show are required =20
to take this class  The techniques that will be taught will be =20
essential to the young actors in performances and rehearsals at Acting =20
Out.
