TrueNorth Cultural Arts will be presenting “A Lenten Journey Through The 
Arts” on Saturday, March 31st at 7:30 p.m. at the Avon Lake United Church of 
Christ located at 32801 Electric Blvd. in Avon Lake.

The concert will feature the TrueNorth Chorale and Symphony performing Lux 
Aeterna by Morten Lauridsen. In addition, the TrueNorth Community Chorus, 
Junior Symphony, TrueNorth Drama Troupe, Dance Performing Ensemble and TNCA 
Visual Artists will also be performing. The TrueNorth Community Chorus will 
be performing Song of the Shadows by Joseph M. Martin and will be joined by 
Avon Lake St. Joseph, Bay Village St. Barnabas and Avon Lake United Church 
of Christ church choirs.

Song of the Shadows reflects the earthly life of Christ which began in the 
shadows and travels through his preachings, his experience of betrayal, the 
struggle with the lengthening shadows of life and lastly as he walks through 
the valley of the shadow of death embracing the cross. By the flickering of 
a candle flame in a rugged stable, the Light of the World delivered himself 
into our darkness. As we confront the “dark night of the soul,” we can 
always find comfort in this: That wherever there are shadows, there is also 
light.

Tickets are $8 in advance and $5 for students/seniors and can be purchased 
through any TrueNorth musician or through the TrueNorth Gallery located at 
33491 Lake Road, Avon Lake next to the Avon Lake Theater. Gallery hours are 
12noon-7pm, Monday-Friday and 9am-4pm on Saturday. Tickets will also be 
available at the door for $10 or $8 for students/seniors. Further
