proofreader for the last 27 years. Former British army officer.
* S/Sgt. FROGGY LeSEUR - 40's - 50's - British. Career army man.
Demolitions expert. Charlie's best friend.
* BETTY MEEKS - 70's - widow. Owner of Betty Meeks Fishing Lodge
Resort in Tilghman County, GA. Lower class southerner with a
heart of gold. Wise about some things, naive about others.
* REV. DAVID MARSHALL LEE - late 20's - 30's - friendly, open,
helpful - a "regular fella" with a dark secret
* CATHERINE SIMMS - 20's - former debutante. David's fiancee. Gives
first impression of being shrill, spoiled, and spiteful.
* ELLARD SIMMS - 18 -23 - Catherine's younger brother - a lumpy,
overgrown, backward youth. More than a little slow on the uptake.
