OBERLIN, OHIO (April 6, 2007)=97Oberlin College=92s Artist Recital =
Series =20
concludes its 128th season with world-renowned violinist Gil Shaham, =20
who will be joined by several of his distinguished musical friends. =20
The all-Brahms concert takes place on Friday, April 27, 2007, at 8 =20
p.m. in historic Finney Chapel, located at 90 North Professor Street, =20=

across from Tappan Square in Oberlin.

The program features Johannes Brahms=92 Sonata in D Minor, Op. 108, a =20=

collection of Hungarian Dances, and Sextet in B-flat Major, Op. 18. =20
Shaham=92s collaborators for the evening are pianist Akira Eguchi, =20
violinist Adele Anthony, violists Masao Kawasaki and Dov Scheindlin, =20
and cellists Jian Wang and Alisa Weilerstein.

Reserved seat-tickets are $10 for students, $22 for seniors and those =20=

with an Oberlin College I.D., and $26 for the general public. They =20
may be purchased in advance by calling Oberlin's Central Ticket =20
Service at 1-800-371-0178. Tickets purchased at the door the night of =20=

the concert are an additional $3. Finney Chapel is wheelchair =20
accessible, and free parking is available throughout the Oberlin =20
College campus.

Violinist Gil Shaham is internationally recognized by audiences and =20
critics alike as one of today=92s most virtuosic and engaging classical =20=

artists. =93Shaham=92s playing had a searing intensity,=94 writes Rian =20=

Evans the Guardian, =93but it was the irrepressible energy he exuded =20
that brought every note so vividly to life.=94

Shaham is sought after throughout the world for concerto appearances =20
with celebrated orchestras and conductors, as well as for recital and =20=

ensemble appearances on the great concert stages and at the most =20
prestigious festivals. His 2006-07 season highlights include =20
appearances with the New York Philharmonic, Cleveland and =20
Philadelphia orchestras, National, Houston, Seattle, Atlanta, and =20
Cincinnati symphonies, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and U.S. tours with =20
both the Chicago Symphony and Orpheus. In addition to recital tours =20
in Europe and Japan he appears abroad with the orchestras of Berlin, =20
