This week, we proudly present 3 performances of a special treat - a
musical the whole family can enjoy:

"A Kid's Life!"

    Wednesday, April 11 at 11 am and 7 pm &
       Thursday, April 12 at 11 am=20

When "A Kid's Life!" begins, we meet Zack, an adorable 5-year-old boy,
and his golden retriever and best friend, Starsky. Together, they
embark on a fun-filled adventure through their hometown where they
befriend Zoe, a spunky 5-year-old girl who is new to town and rather
shy. Gradually, Zack wins her trust and brings her out of her shell.
Over the course of the day, Zack and Zoe encounter many new friends:
from a talking clock who teaches them the importance of time, to a
beautiful owl who reminds them that animals have feelings too, to an
orange tree that gives them a deeper appreciation of nature. Mr.
Sullivan, the corner store clerk, also joins the fun by showing them how
wonderful "a kid's life!" can be! Packed with wholesome family
entertainment and positive messages, this feel-good musical enchants
audiences of all ages and is sure to get you moving!

=20

The show runs one hour, and each of the performances will be followed by
a meet-and-greet in the lobby with the cast in their colorful costumes.
"A Kid's Life!" encourages positive thinking for children and inspires
them to: appreciate the environment, believe in themselves, respect
others, and most of all enjoy the magic of a kid's life! It's the
perfect introduction to the wonderful world of live musical theatre.

Pluck
    Thursday, April 19 at 7:30pm=20
Directed by Cal McCrystal

"The three most stupid musicians in the world have been invited to
perform at last! Highly strung violinist Yarlsberg has designs on the
perfect concert and ever enthusiastic Mr. Abanathie aims to please with
a variety of instruments. Meanwhile, budget celebrity Kadifachi's
surprisingly passionate relationship with her cello threatens to hijack
the entire performance!"

Enjoy the musical comedy show where anything could, and does, happen!
Pluck, made up of violinist Adrian Garratt, violist Jon Regan and
cellist Sian Kadifachi, is the comedy string trio whose unique and
hugely entertaining show has turned the classical concert on its head!
The group has played hundreds of shows all over the world, leading to
huge exposure and reviews the likes of which string trios have never
seen before... "Gloriously funny!" The Scotsman. "I laughed so much it
really hurt" Three Weeks. Winner of four major international awards,
Pluck has crescendoed its way to fame since the group's acclaimed debut
at the Edinburgh Festival in 2003. From that time on, Pluck has tickled
the funny bone of sold-out crowds all across Europe, Australia and the
Far East. Now it's Stocker Arts Center's turn to enjoy Pluck's melodic
buffoonery as they wreak havoc between harmonies. It's the Marx
Brothers meets Yo-Yo Ma!  It's Pluck!   www.pluck.me.uk

Pavlo and his Band in Concert

    Saturday, April 21 - 7:30pm=20
After the enthusiastic response they received here last season, we've
invited Pavlo and his band back to Stocker to wow you! Pavlo is the
performer the News Leader of Duncan, BC dubbed the "Greek God of the
Guitar!" He has also been called "Lord of the Strings!" (Star Phoenix,
Saskatoon, KS) and a "Master Showman" (London Free Press). A Canadian
born Greek composer, musician, singer, guitarist and recording artist,
Pavlo composes in a style best described as "Mediterranean Music." He
combines influences of Flamenco, Latin, Classical and Mediterranean
guitar and mixes them together with the Greek Bouzouki, creating his own
unique style! Pavlo and his band have released six albums, one of which
was nominated for "Best Instrumental Album of the Year" at the 2000 Juno
Awards in Canada. Two of his records have received Gold certifications
in Canada by the Canadian Recording Industry Association, and he has
sold over 500,000 albums worldwide. In 2004, he won "World Artist of
the Year" at the Canadian Independent Music Awards. Pavlo's music has
been included on two episodes of The Chris Isaak Show, a movie called
"Marine Life" starring Cybil Shepherd, CTV's "Eleventh Hour" and L.A.'s
"L Word" to name a few. His music has also been featured on over a
dozen CD compilations around the world. Pavlo and his band perform over
150 concerts a year. We're glad they were able to fit in a return visit
to Stocker Arts Center! Don't miss watching this dazzling performer -
who will even astonish you by playing the guitar behind his head! You
will be awed by the virtuosity and musicianship of Pavlo and his band
members!   www.pavlo.net <http://www.pavlo.net/> =20

Imani Winds in Concert

    Friday, April 27 - 7:30pm=20
VALERIE COLEMAN, flute, TOYIN SPELLMAN-DIAZ, oboe,=20
MARIAM ADAM, clarinet JEFF SCOTT, French horn=20
MONICA ELLIS, bassoon

Praised by Gramophone and Essence Magazine for "taking the wind quintet
where it rarely ventures," the five accomplished musicians of Imani
Winds joined forces in 1997 to expand the boundaries of the traditional
wind quintet and explore the links between European, African and
American music traditions. The name Imani, which literally means "faith"
in Swahili, embodies this mission. In their time together, this young
ensemble of African/Latin American heritage has established a distinct
presence in the classical music world for dynamic playing, innovative
programming, and inspirational outreach programs, which often explore
the culture and heritage of the African Diaspora while introducing
Western classical traditions to diverse audiences. In 2002, the group
released their CMA/WQXR award winning debut recording entitled Umoja
(featuring original works by Imani flutist, Valerie Coleman). Classical
Underground, which was nominated for a 2005 Grammy Award, was released
on the KOCH label in January 2005. Two-time winner of the CMA/ASCAP
Award for "Adventurous Programming," the group also received the 2003
"Meet the Composer" Commissioning Music/USA Award. They are also
recipients of the Artists International Annual New York Debut Prize.
Past highlights include performances at Atlanta's National Black Arts
Festival, Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, Chicago Symphony Musicians
Residency Program, the Ravinia Festival, the Kennedy Center, and the
Philadelphia Chamber Music Society. During the 2003-04 season Imani
Winds enjoyed national exposure with broadcasts on NPR's Saint Paul
Sunday and Performance Today. Their second CD for KOCH, titled Imani
Winds, was released in January of 2006. <http://www.imaniwinds/>

Livingston Taylor in Concert   =20

    Friday, May 11 - 7:30pm=20
"Like his big brother, James, Livingston Taylor is easy on the ears..."
The Washington Post. Livingston Taylor is a consummate artist in his
own right, and a veteran performer whose stage presence wows his
audience from the first song. Presenting variety, versatility and joie
de vivre in music, Liv lulls and charms the audience one moment and
sends them into waves of laughter the next. A major force on the pop
music and singer-songwriter scenes for more than 25 years, he has
released several hit singles and more than a dozen albums (most
recently, There You Are Again which features such guest artists as Carly
Simon, James Taylor, Pam Tillis and Vince Gill). Liv has been called
"the ultimate crowd pleaser" by Performing Songwriter Magazine, received
recognition as Outstanding Folk/Acoustic Act from the Boston Music
Awards, and also has won several awards from ASCAP for his songwriting.
In addition, he is a Full Professor on the faculty of the Berklee
College of Music in Boston. So whether you're laughing as he
plays/jokes around about entering the Olympics in the category of Guitar
(or sometimes Banjo) Playing, or wiping away a tear as he's singing
about being the "Best of Friends," you will love his show!

class=3D662302316-09042007>'ve</SPAN> invited Pavlo and his band back to =
Stocker=20
to wow you!  Pavlo is the performer the News Leader of Duncan, BC =
dubbed=20
the "Greek God of the Guitar!”  He has also been called "Lord =
of the=20
Strings!" (Star Phoenix, Saskatoon, KS) and a "Master Showman" (London =
Free=20
Press).  A Canadian born Greek composer, musician, singer, =
guitarist and=20
recording artist, Pavlo composes in a style best described as =
"Mediterranean=20
Music."  He combines influences of Flamenco, Latin, Classical and=20
Mediterranean guitar and mixes them together with the Greek Bouzouki, =
creating=20
his own unique style!  Pavlo and his band have released six albums, =
one of=20
which was nominated for "Best Instrumental Album of the Year" at the =
2000 Juno=20
Awards in Canada.  Two of his records have received Gold =
certifications in=20
Canada by the Canadian Recording Industry Association, and he has sold =
over=20
500,000 albums worldwide.  In 2004, he won "World Artist of the =
Year" at=20
the Canadian Independent Music Awards.  Pavlo's music has been =
included on=20
two episodes of The Chris Isaak Show, a movie called “Marine =
Life” starring=20
Cybil Shepherd, CTV's “Eleventh Hour” and L.A.'s “L =
Word” to name a few. =20
His music has also been featured on over a dozen CD compilations around =
the=20
world.  Pavlo and his band perform over 150 concerts a year.  =
We're=20
glad they were able to fit in a return visit to Stocker Arts =
Center!  Don't=20
miss watching this dazzling performer – who will even astonish you =
by playing=20
the guitar behind his head!  You will be awed by the virtuosity and =

musicianship of Pavlo and his band members!   </FONT><A=20

"taking=20
the wind quintet where it rarely ventures," the five accomplished =
musicians of=20
Imani Winds joined forces in 1997 to expand the boundaries of the =
traditional=20
wind quintet and explore the links between European, African and =
American music=20
traditions. The name Imani, which literally means “faith” in =
Swahili, embodies=20
this mission. In their time together, this young ensemble of =
African/Latin=20
American heritage has established a distinct presence in the classical =
music=20
world for dynamic playing, innovative programming, and inspirational =
outreach=20
programs, which often explore the culture and heritage of the African =

while introducing Western classical traditions to diverse audiences. In =
2002,=20
the group released their CMA/WQXR award winning debut recording entitled =
Umoja=20
(featuring original works by Imani flutist, Valerie Coleman). Classical=20
Underground, which was nominated for a 2005 Grammy Award, was released =
on the=20
KOCH label in January 2005. Two-time winner of the CMA/ASCAP Award for=20
“Adventurous Programming,” the group also received the 2003 =
“Meet the Composer”=20
Commissioning Music/USA Award. They are also recipients of the Artists=20
International Annual New York Debut Prize. Past highlights include =
performances=20
at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival, Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital =
Hall,=20
Chicago Symphony Musicians Residency Program, the Ravinia Festival, the =
Kennedy=20
Center, and the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society. During the 2003-04 =
season=20
Imani Winds enjoyed national exposure with broadcasts on NPR's Saint =
