I don;t like doing history by balkanization.  If that's the case, then most of Ken Burns interviewees would have to be with Italians, since the largest group of GIs were Italian.

  That is just politicization by professional activists.  Sort of reminds me of the sanitization the Smithsonian had of the Enola Gay exhibition.  It cheapened the glorious end to World War II.

This is what my Grandfather used to term "bullshit." The second ANY filmmaker, documentarian, author, songwriter, or whoever has to bend over backwards and change the vision of their project just to suit the needs of someone that decided to take offense at the exclusion of their ethnic group. no matter what ethnic group that may be, the creative process ceases being creative and becomes regulated, and that flies in the face of creativity. If you're so fucking concerned about people finding out what the Hispanic experience in WWII was, MAKE YOUR OWN DAMN DOCUMENTARY ABOUT IT! DON'T FORCE YOUR VISION ON SOMEONE ELSE!!!

When you get right down to it, this doc is the property of Mr. Burns, and having seen his previous documentaries, I am positive this will be a facinating, touching, heartbreaking, amazing experience, as all of his work has been. If you want face time on the TV and in the papers, do something to earn it rather than protesting something that's none of your business.
