Karamu is delighted to participate in Cleveland Play House's =
FusionFestival a second year in a row and a chance to give Cleveland =
audience a taste of Lee Summer's muscial/comedy, "The Funkentine =
Rapture".=20

The soaring '70s, platform shoes, and skyhigh afros and a beat to take =
you even higher  in "a Funkafied" ode to Parliament Funkadelic in "a =
Funkalicious New Musical" The Funkentine Rapture. Funkentine which first =
premiered in 2005 in New York at the National Alliance for Musical =
Theatre's 17th Annual Festival of New Musicals was created by Lee =
Summers who appeared in the original Broadway musical Dreamgirls.=20
When an aspiring funkmaster reaches for the stars, he's caught in an =
uproarious battle between good and evil, funk and disco, Kentucky fried =
and Harlem's catfish surprise. Can he win the girl, gain the gig, and =
rescue the recipe from heinous hands? Get your funk on for the funniest =
musical funkfest in years."=20

Karamu is casting right away for Actors/Singers of all nationalities.=20
Auditions will be held on Sunday 4/15 12pm-2:30pm and Tuesday 4/17 =
6pm-8pm.=20
Rehearsals will be held evenings and weekends.=20
