Virtuoso to Perform
            One of America's leading concert organists, Todd Wilson,
will be featured in a 3 p.m. concert at Elyria's Washington Avenue
Christian Church this Sunday, April 15 when the church dedicates its new
pipe organ.  The newly-installed 18-rank pipe organ was designed and
built by Kegg Pipe Organ Builders of Hartville, Ohio.
            Wilson has been hailed by critics and audiences as a
"fabulous virtuoso" with "stunning technique" who consistently brings
audiences to their feet.   His bold and dynamic playing style combine
with entertaining and diverse programming to win new fans of what has
been described as the king of all instruments.  Audiences particularly
enjoy Wilson's personal charm and wit demonstrated in his spoken
performance remarks.
Todd Wilson has been heard in many major cities throughout the United
States, Europe and Japan, playing solo concerts and accompanying some of
the world's best orchestras.  He dedicated the organ in the new
21,000-seat Mormon Conference Center in Salt Lake City, and performed
with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra on the first orchestra
subscription series concert featuring the new organ at Disney Hall in
Los Angeles.
            Wilson is Director of Music and Organist at Cleveland's
Church of the Covenant and also chairs the Organ Department of The
Cleveland Institute of Music.  Former Head of the Organ Department at
Berea's Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music, he was a favorite
performer in the school's annual Bach Festivals.  He currently teaches
at Columbus' Capital University.   
Organ Curator of the recently-restored E.M. Skinner Norton Memorial
Organ in Cleveland's Severance Hall, he can be heard playing a variety
of Christmas music on "A Joyous Celebration", the 2001 inaugural
recording of that instrument.  Wilson has several releases on the JAV
label, including a 2005 disk which features a live recital of American
music from the National Cathedral in Washington, DC.  His "In a Quiet
Cathedral," a two-disc collection of meditative organ music, has been
described as a "must-have" recording for music enthusiasts.
He received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the
College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, where he
studied organ with Wayne Fisher.  He received additional coaching in
organ repertoire from Russell Saunders at The Eastman School of Music.  
Winner of the Grand Prix de Chartres (France) and the Ft. Wayne
Competition, Wilson has become a sought-after adjudicator for many of
the world's most prestigious competitions.  He is an active member of
the American Guild of Organists and holds the Fellow and Choirmaster
certificates.  Wilson was a featured performer for the Centennial
National Convention of the Guild in New York City. 
A reception will follow Sunday's concert, with a freewill offering
