Officer "Lockstock" (played by the incredibly talented Max Chernin) claims in
the show that "this is not a happy musical". Sorry, officer, but I beg to
differ. I am neither a theater critic nor affiliated with the Stagecrafters'
production of "Urinetown"....but I have to tell you all that I have never
laughed so hard in a musical.

Gloriously directed by Jamie Koeth with music direction by Sean Szaller and
amazing choreography by Abby Lausin, this is a production you should not
miss!!! Ben Fankhauser has an extraordinary career waiting for him on Broadway, no
doubt, and he captures all that lead character Bobby Strong has to offer. The
whole cast is wonderful....Stagecrafters truly has crafted a professional
production.

I remember the criticisms way back when that ran on neohiopal about this
show....I didn't get involved then because I had never seen the show. After
catching a clip of the song "Run Freedom Run" on WKYC's Good Company yesterday, I
knew I had to see it (my own choir, the "Selrec Singers", is performing that
song in June)....and I am so glad I did. "Urinetown" pokes fun at all things
Broadway (look for snipets of "Annie", "Les Mis" and "Fiddler" just to name a
few)....and it will definitely make you smile.

In the course of the show, the cast even states "it's not a great title" for
a musical....but this definitely IS a great performance!!! Don't miss it --
last performance is tomorrow at Orange High School at 1pm.

Congratulations to producers Wendy Scott-Koeth and Richard Hinkelman for
standing by your decision to do this show and giving the community such a treat!!!

Staci Vincent
