This play is a thought-provoking drama skillfully crafted from the
novel by Harper Lee. To Kill a Mockingbird was first published in
1960. The novel portrays three years in the life of Scout Finch, the
young daughter of an Alabama town's principled lawyer, Atticus Finch.
The novel became a best-seller and won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.

The play is set in the 1930s in the fictional town of Maycomb,
Alabama. It is presented as the memories of narrator, Jean Louise
Finch (Faith Sheaffer-Thornberry). Jean Louise, known as Scout
(Meredith Piatt) as a child, presents her recollections of the
activities and characters in her home town at the time of the arrest
and trial of Tom Robinson (Daryl Robinson), a black man accused of
raping a white girl, Mayella Ewell (Megan Leigh Valentino). Scout's
father, Atticus Finch (Fred Weibel) is the attorney defending Tom
Robinson.

Scout and her brother Jem (Victor Schade) and their friend Dill
(Gregory Margida) are intrigued by the Radley house and its
mysterious inhabitants Boo and Nathan Radley (Christopher Canfield
and Paul Hudzik). Jem and Scout who are motherless rely on
housekeeper Calpurnia (Tawangda Howell) for comfort and discipline.

Most of the locals are appalled that a man of Atticus Finch's
standing in the community would defend a black man. Neighbors Maudie
Atkinson (Kathy Gray Farthing), Miss Stephanie (Joan Conlon), and
Mrs. Dubose (Tammy Hyde) all have an opinion. Atticus stands his
ground in defending Tom before and during the trial including when a
crowd of men that includes Mayella's father Bob Ewell (Joe Clifford
Faust) and Walter Cunningham (Anthony Margida) show up at the jail to
abduct Tom Robinson.

Rounding out the cast are J. Kim Lewis (Heck Tate), Joe Martuccio
(Judge Taylor), Pamela S. Smith (Helen), Barry Wakser (Mr. Gilmer)
and Vincent Watts (Reverend Sykes). The townspeople of Maycomb are
Pamela Weibel, Kevin Findling, Jim Perone, Jim Piatt, Cornelius
Edwards, Dolores Edwards, Jessi Howells, Jermane Watson, Victoria
Watts, and Atoiya Williams. Superbly acted by this large cast, this
classic American drama portrays a historic slice of Southern life.
Don McCallister is directing with Dawn Findling as Stage Manager. set
design is by Keith Brown and Gordon Harrison, lights by Corey Clay,
and costuming by Connie Houk.

The play runs through April 29th. Friday and Saturday performances
are at 8:00 pm on April 20th and 21st and April 27th and 28th. The
Sunday matinee is on April 29th at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $10 for
