The Canton Museum of Art is honored to exhibit the artwork of sculptor, =
John
Cavanaugh, in the Education Gallery. Ohio born, Cavanaugh literally gave =
his
life for his art, succumbing to lung cancer from exposure to his raw
material, lead, in 1985. He was a well-known sculptor who lived most of =
his
life in New York and Washington D.C. He was born and educated in Ohio,
receiving his Fine Arts degree from The Ohio State University. The
foundation has established a Fellowship Award at OSU for an outstanding =
grad
student entering the Sculpture Program. Cavanaugh was a prolific artist =
and
his sculptures are in museum collections from the National Cathedral in
Washington, D.C. to the National Collection of Egypt. This exhibit runs

of sculptor, John Cavanaugh, in the Education Gallery. Ohio born, =
Cavanaugh
literally gave his life for his art, succumbing to lung cancer from =

his raw material, lead, in 1985. He was a well-known sculptor who lived =
most of
his life in New York and Washington D.C. He was born and educated in =
Ohio,
receiving his Fine Arts degree from The Ohio State University. The =
foundation
has established a Fellowship Award at OSU for an outstanding grad =

entering the Sculpture Program. Cavanaugh was a prolific artist and his
sculptures are in museum collections from the National Cathedral in =
