Admission, $5 for Students,=C2=A0UA Faculty and Staff=C2=A0in Sandefur
Theatre at Guzzetta Hall=C2=A0There will be a talk-back with the
playwright after the performance on Thursday, followed by a reception
in the lobby.=C2=A0The University of Akron Theatre Guild held a
playwriting contest from October 2006-January 2007.=C2=A0 A total of 48
entries from around the country were recieved.=C2=A0MICHAEL GEITHER,=C2=A0
JUDGE=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0Mike Geither served as playwright in residence =
at
Cleveland Public Theatre for the past ten years.=C2=A0 He has recieved
three Individual Artist Fellowships from the Ohio Arts Council.=C2=A0
Currently, he is Professor of English at Cleveland State
University.=C2=A0KURT MCGINNIS BROWN, PLAYWRIGHT=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0McGi=
nnis Brown
recieved his MFA in Creative WRiting in 1992 from Colorado State
University.=C2=A0 He has won the Mercury Players' Mercury Rising Contest
and was a finalist in the 2005 comedy competition co-sponsored by
Chicago Dramatists and The Second City.=C2=A0 McGinnis Brown is the
co-founder of Wisconsin Wrights New Play Project.=C2=A0 His works of
fiction have been published in Denver Quarterly and American Literary
Review.=C2=A0 He has recieved a Colorado Arts Fellowship and was the
two-time finalist in the James Fellowship for the Novel.=C2=A0 In
addition to his literary pursuits, McGinnis Brown works as a
communications director for a center researching land issues in
deveoping countries.
