Saturday evening, May 19, 7:30 p.m., TrueNorth is hosting an evening of song entitled “Only Hope” with soprano Leah Crocetto.  Musical selections will range from opera to jazz to show-tunes … Puccini to Gershwin!  The recital will be at TrueNorth Cultural Arts Center, 33491Lake Road, just west of Moore Road, next to the Avon Lake Movie Theatre.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Leah is no stranger to TrueNorth; having been featured in TrueNorth’s Christmas Concert Weekend as well as their January Mozart celebration this past December and January to rave reviews and standing ovations. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Leah Crocetto, an accomplished singer and actress is the winner of The Italian-American Opera Competition in Chicago, winner of the Bel Canto Opera Competition in Chicago, and the Grand Prize winner of The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). Leah has performed with many different orchestras including the "Chicago Symphonic Orchestra" and "The Adrian Symphony Orchestra".  She made her professional Opera debut with the "Utah Festival Opera", and has since performed in many stage productions, both in opera 
and musical theatre. Ms. Crocetto performs in showcases, cabaret shows, recitals and concerts from NYC to Chicago, and beyond, including her Carnegie Hall debut at The Weill Recital Hall last spring. Ms. Crocetto has recorded original music for renowned conductor David Lai, EJ and M Lackey, and D Stewart.  Recent theatre credits include Moliere's "Tartuff" as Dorinne, Sondheim's "Into the Woods" as the Witch, and Ahrens and Flaherty's "Ragtime" as Mother. <o:p></o:p>

TrueNorth audiences have been amazed at Ms. Crocetto’s diverse styles and versatility.  You will hear standards such as Blues in the Night and Fever, to Broadway’s Secret Garden and Side Show, to Opera favorites such as La Rondine’s Chi’l bel sogno di Doretta and Lakme’s The Flower Song.<o:p></o:p>

Leah will be joined by TrueNorth soprano soloist Kristen Jones, tenor Todd Schrieber, who also was featured in TrueNorth’s winter concerts, and TrueNorth conductor and Executive Director, baritone Rick Fortney. <o:p></o:p>

The Concert is free and open to all.  An offering will be taken to defray concert costs and support Leah’s career.  Don’t miss this beautiful evening of song.   All are invited to a special reception immediately following the performance.  <o:p></o:p>
