The third installment of Concerts at the Crossroads' spring series is coming
this Mother's Day. On Sunday May 13th at 5pm, Christopher Grundy and
pianist Nathan Carterette will perform Schubert's "Schwanengesang," the
collection of Schubert's last songs. This is the final concert in the
song-cycle series, with a four-hand piano concert of Schubert's music
following in June.

Christopher Grundy, baritone, has performed song recitals in the
United States and Europe, and has a wide repertoire encompassing many
periods, styles and languages. He has performed as a soloist with many
choral ensembles, inlucding the Choir of the St. Patrick's Cathedral in New
York, and the Amor Artis Chorale with Johannes Somary. Mr. Grundy was born
in New York, and began his vocal studies there with John Mack Ousley, and
his piano studies with John Contiguglia. He completed his B.A. at Yale
University , where he was awarded the Ben Cutler Vocal Scholarship. During
this time he conducted the Yale Russian Chorus, and was the Assistant
Conductor of the Yale Glee Club, and appeared in leading roles with the Yale
College Opera Company. For two summers he performed at the AIMS festival
in Graz, Austria, where he studied with Harold Heiberg. Mr. Grundy takes a
very active interest in the relationship between text and music, and
recently has worked on this subject in the compositions of Gustav Mahler.
He has collaborated regularly with Nathan Carterette since 1999.

Tickets are $10, and a wine reception with the artists follows the concert.

All concerts in this series take place in the sanctuary of Christ Episcopal
