   Summer Acting Workshop
  Scott Plate & Doug Snyder
  DATES: June 30th-July 22nd

  Focus:

To investigate text and movement with actors within the context of short dramatic scenes and original composition.

To combine acting techniques from the points of view of both psychological realism and physical objectivism.

To create an event open to the public.

  Classes:

Each class will involve scene work using an existing text, as well as the construction of original pieces based on movement and possible text fragments. Surrounding these two investigations will be warm-ups, games, and specific problems given to the actors to solve, that will help to fuel the creative process both directly and indirectly.

  Goal:

To motivate actors to think and act in new and exciting ways.

To encourage actors to be truthful and responsive to self and to the text, while simultaneously being aware of their physical and spatial relationships.

To support actors’ ongoing quest to master their craft.
