The Department of Theatre Arts at Hiram College invites applications for
a staff position as Technical Director and Scenic/Lighting Designer.
Duties would include designing sets and lighting for one
faculty-directed and one student-directed production per semester and
supervising student crews in realizing the designs.  The Technical
Director will also teach two full-time classes (or the equivalent) per
semester.  These classes will be tailored to the successful candidate's
areas of expertise and particular interests, but may include "Tech
Production," "Scenic Design," Lighting Design," or "Introduction to the
Theatre." =20

MFA and college-level teaching preferred, as well as practical
experience in the theatre and shop.  Successful candidates will have a
passion for the theatre, and an interest in sharing their knowledge and
experience with students in a liberal arts curriculum. This position
would be an excellent opportunity for a designer to build a resume of
executed designs and expand her or his list of classes taught. =20
