<DIV class=RTE>This weekend, Fourth Wall Productions is opening it's third show of their Inaugural season- <EM>Stained Glass Ugly</EM> by Qui Nguyen. Never heard of it? That's because it hasn't been done, yet, around this area. But, in New York, and Los Angeles, where it has been done, t<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; COLOR: black; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman','serif'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">he productions immediately brought critical attention to the [Vampire Cowboys] including praise from BACKSTAGE who exclaimed “This is a new young company to keep an eye on!” LA WEEKLY followed by calling the writing “consistently clever, graceful, and provocative.”</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV class=RTE> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>Qui Nguyen went to Ohio University as a MFA Playwright. Qui then went onto New York to start his own theatre company called Vampires Cowboys Theatre company (<A href="http://www.vampirecowboys.com">www.vampirecowboys.com</A>), which is a company that is making waves in that hard-knock life that is New York. His plays, while having a light atmosphere that makes it easy for everyone to enjoy, has a deep-rooted heart that makes them envigorating, exciting, and thought-provoking.</DIV>

<DIV class=RTE>The play, <EM>Stained Glass Ugly</EM> is about two people, Adam and Madison, who are deeply in love, and are counting down the seven days until their wedding. Unfortunately, while engaged, Adam had a horrible accident which ripped the bottom of his face off. What <EM>Stained Glass Ugly</EM> also does is travel through different times, memories, and perspectives to show how the disfigurement has not only made Adam a little bit uglier on the inside, but shows how the world now perceives the beautiful Madison as ugly because Adam is rich due to the accident and everyone now thinks she is a "gold digger" who will cheat on Adam at the first chance she gets.</DIV>

<DIV class=RTE>Can this couple survive with the pressures society puts on outside beauty? </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>An hour an a half show which holds more than 21 scenes gives you flash cuts of- a Scene of just Dance, a 1950's sitcom, a "Frasier"-like flashback, a stereotypical Parisian moment, and more. <EM>Stained Glass Ugly</EM> is for sure to bring about after-show coffee-and-pie eating conversation. </DIV>

<DIV class=RTE><EM>Stained Glass Ugly </EM>is performed beautifully by it's two actors- Dash Combs (Adam) and Carli Taylor Miluk (Madison). These two young'ins know how to hit a line, break your heart, and make you laugh within some of the three minute scenes. </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>It's one of my favorite plays that I have read in awhile, and I do hope most of you get a chance to come out and see it. It's the first show Fourth Wall Productions has set to run for three weekends. </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE> </DIV>
<DIV class=RTE>If you're a theatre company looking for new works to do- I hope you see Qui Nguyen is a playwright to go after. And, <EM>Stained Glass Ugly</EM> is a play that can be done in dozens of different ways. If you're a theatre patron looking for an entertaining, engaging piece to see- I do believe Fourth Wall has it here for you. And, if you're just someone looking for something to do with friends or loved ones- The show is only $10 a ticket (only $1 more than a Regal Cinemas ticket,) and every cent of that $10 is detrimental to Fourth Wall's upstart production company.</DIV>
