<P><FONT size=2><STRONG>Cleveland (OH)</STRONG> - <STRONG>Karamu Performing Arts Theatre</STRONG> Will <STRONG>Host A Free 5-Day Acting Workshop </STRONG>(Teens & Adults) Conducted by C. Lee Turner, Master Teacher, Director, Educator on <STRONG>May 29- June 2, 2007</STRONG>. On <STRONG>Sunday June 3, 2007</STRONG> A <STRONG>Theater Forum </STRONG>Will Be Held To Examine All Aspects Of Theater Selected Monologues And Scenes Excerpts Performed for Public Viewing.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=2><STRONG>C. Lee Turner</STRONG> is an <STRONG>associate professor </STRONG>at <STRONG>Prarie View A&M University</STRONG>. He has judged over 112 <STRONG>One Act Play </STRONG>(OAP) contests for the <STRONG>University Interscholastic League</STRONG> (UIL). He directed the UIL OAP for 13 years, advancing to Texas State Meet three times, winning once and was 1st runner-up twice. Lee earned his MA at the <STRONG>University of Houston</STRONG> and did advanced study at the <STRONG>California Institute of the Arts and the Tisch School of the Arts</STRONG>. He was named <STRONG>Teacher of the Year for the College/University division of Texas Educational Theater Association</STRONG> in 1990. As Associate Professor at Texas A&M-Prairie View for 25 years, Lee directed more than 120 productions. His <STRONG>American College Theatre
Festival</STRONG> productions advanced to the <STRONG>National Festival </STRONG>in Washington D.C. in 1982 and 1997. In addition, Turner is also the mentor of <STRONG>Terrence Spivey</STRONG>, <STRONG> Karamu</STRONG> <STRONG>artistic director </STRONG>and an alumni of Prarie View A&M University. </FONT></P>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>The actors' workshop will employ the acting techniques established by <STRONG>Robert Benedetti</STRONG>, <STRONG>Uta Hagen </STRONG>and <STRONG>Sanford Meisner</STRONG>. The disciples will serve as the catalyst for developing or improving the actor's tools (body and voice) for effective performance on stage.</FONT> <FONT face=Arial size=2>The schedule is a followed;</FONT></DIV>
