A comprehensive program of music study for junior and senior high school=20
instrumentalists. (Grades 7 - 12).  An opportunity to learn from some of=20
Northeast Ohio's finest jazz musicians, our class size is small and our=20
instructors are accessible to the student.

Dates and Time:
June 18 ? 22, 2007=20
7:30 am ? 8:00 am  drop off
8:00 am  - Continental Breakfast
8:30 am ? 8:15 pm  Camp

June 23, 2007  9:00 am ? 1:00 pm  Student Small Ensemble Concert

Eligibility: All junior high or senior high musicians who have completed th=
e seventh=20
grade.  Students must be recommended by their music directors.

Cost:  Commuter Camp Only - $345.  Includes two meals daily.

Financial Aid:  Students may apply for scholarship assistance on the basis =
of musical=20
proficiency and/or need.  A Special application is required for this=20
purpose and is available upon request.  All scholarships are contingent=20
upon funds available.  (Deadline: May 25, 2007)

Facilities and Meals:  All rehearsals, concerts, recitals, and instructiona=
l activities will=20
take place at Lakeland Community College.  Excellent meals will be served=20
in the Lakeland Community College dining room

Auditions:  All students will be auditioned on the first day of camp for pl=
acement.=20
 Students should have a short piece of music prepared for this purpose.

Ed Michaels, Director
Ed Michaels earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from=20
Duquesne University and a Master of Music degree in performance from=20
Northwestern University where he studied with Fred Hemke.  In addition to=20
his saxophone performances, Ed teaches instrumental music in the=20
Willoughby-Eastlake School System.  At Lakeland, he is Director of Jazz=20
Impact (high school honors band), Director of the Summer Jazz Music Camp,=20
and Director of the Lakeland Jazz Festival.

John Simna, Special Guest
John Simna is a radio personality from WCLV.  He is the host of the=20
popular weekend show, "All Night Jazz," heard on 104.9 FM every Saturday=20
at midnight.
