The Roberto Ocasio Latin Jazz Camp begins it's third annual season on
the campus of Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory in Berea, Ohio.  Multi
Grammy-Award nominee Bobby Sanabria will once again serve as
Artist-In-Residence and conduct a one-day master class for musicians and
band directors who wish to enhance their knowledge of Hispanic music and
rhythms.  The three day camp program, for middle and high school
instrumentalists, features individual and ensemble practice.  Students
will perform in concert at BW, Friday, July 13 at 7 p.m., with Sanabria
and The Roberto Ocasio Latin Jazz Project.  The concert is free and open

Instruction in the technical aspects of playing, composition and
improvisation in the various styles in Latin jazz;=20

History of Latin Music (Smithsonian Institute project);

Analysis of the rhythmic aspects of the music, in particular, the engine
that drives Afro-Cuban based music, la clave. =20

Hands-on learning through jam sessions, ensemble and individual
instruction, concert appearance, Caribbean music-and-art session
provided by The CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART;

Professional artist/educators from Cleveland's Roberto Ocasio Latin Jazz
Project and from New York City, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic,
Jamaica, Trinidad, and Tabago.

Camp application/tuition.  Limited openings available for all
instruments.

A Foundation subsidy and a $225 student fee ($250 after June 1) covers
instruction, materials, supervised overnight dorm accommodations, all
meals, and social activities.  Financial assistance is available for
qualified students.  Placement of students will be based on application
information, references, and audition the first day of camp.

will involve student presentations, critique and individual instruction.
Master Class application/tuition deadline is June 10.  $160 per student
covers morning and afternoon sessions, lunch and dinner, and an evening
