Lt. Governor Lee Fisher knows the importance of making Ohio more
film-friendly. In the new state budget for 2008 and 2009, he included
funding for a new statewide film commission, the Ohio Film Bureau.
Unfortunately, the state House of Representatives cut the bureau out of
their version of the budget last month. The state Senate is currently
considering whether or not to put it back in.

Please contact your local senator and tell them to include the Ohio Film
Bureau in their version of the new budget. A state-level office, with
oversight, can better market Ohio as a whole to film companies and hold
municipal film commissions accountable for the work, or lack-there-of, they
are accomplishing. It's a win-win for anyone interested in working in film
and TV.
