**Chagrin Valley Little Theatre's River St. Playhouse presents /Sacred
Hearts/, one of several plays by Cleveland area playwright Margo Haas.
In this romantic comedy-drama set in a senior home (Sacred Heart)
outside of Chicago, we are introduced to residents Mario Romano, a
feisty Italian import, and Alma Ryan, the newest resident of Sacred
Heart. A romance blossoms between the two, but they are forced to keep
their romance a secret due to the strong and continual objections of
both Sister Damien - Sacred Heart's director - and Mario's estranged
daughter, Angela. The two lovebirds scoff at everyone's objections,
however, and manage furtive meetings throughout the day, but not unseen
by Gert, a jealous and menacing long-time resident who has it in for
Alma and Mario. As the first act comes to a close, a secret is revealed
that will alter the course of events for both of them.
Starring: Frank Mularo, Hester Lewellen, Jackie Casssara, Gena Hallaman
and Chris White
Directed by Kate Tonti
