Friday, July 6th (10 - 5pm) and Saturday, July 7th (9:30am - 1:30) by
appointment.
WE GOTTA BINGO is being produced by Actors Theater of Minnesota in
conjunction with Playhouse Square. Director is Ross Young (Tony n' Tina's Wedding).
Auditions will be held in the Red Rehearsal Hall (formerly the West
Rehearsal Hall) @ 1650 Chester Avenue (State Theatre Stage Door entrance.)
To schedule, the number for the audition hotline is 216-348-7903 and the
email is _auditions at playhousesquare.org_ (mailto:auditions at playhousesquare.org)
APPTS will be 2 ACTORS at a time, scheduled 10 minutes apart. If there
is someone you would like to "play" with, please schedule together.
Seeking strong comedic actors (AEA & NON) who are comfortable with
improvisation. Roles for character actors as well as some in their 20s, 30s. Some
sing. Also needed are musicians who can play in a polka band (must be
comfortable having fun onstage).
Please prepare a comic monologue and, if you sing, and a short song to sing
without accompaniment. Musicians could bring an accordion, guitar or any
other fun instrument - piano will be provided if you play keys. There will be
some improvisation.
WGB is an interactive bingo "fun-raiser" in a German beer hall. "Funds" are
being raised in order to complete the merger of St. Dominic's and St
Patrick's parishes. One being predominately Italian and the other being Irish,
conflicts abound. The Diocese has promised to match funds for the mandated
merger if the two congregations can show a willingness to get along. Characters
include a professional BINGO caller and his perky assistant, a nun, 2 choir
directors, Helmut Voekel (proprietor of the Brew-Ha-Ha) and the polka band
(The Voekel Chords), Father Duncan, Rosa Dimini (the hostess) and several other
lovable characters. The show is family fun & quite entertaining!
Hope to see you at the auditions! Thanks for your time.
Jacqi Loewy, Casting Consultant (I will be happy to answer questions via
email as I have seen the show. It has been running successfully for 2 years in
St. Paul and is hilarious!).
