Greetings,
Kents 14th Annual
ART IN THE PARK
Kents Art in the Park provides a unique opportunity to promote fine art
while highlighting the cultural and artistic resources of the area. Art
In The Park is a juried show featuring both local and regional artists.
This years jurors, Kathleen Brown, Professor of Art at Kent State
University, is head of the metals and enameling department; and Matthew
Kolodziej Associate Professor of Art at the University of Akron, teaches
painting and drawing. Since both are practicing artists they bring a
sensitivity for the amount of the time, dedication, and work needed to
create a successful finished piece of artwork.
Monetary prizes are awarded to Best of Show, First, Second, and Third
places. This year, Del Ray Loven, Director of the Mary Schiller Myers
School of Art at the University of Akron will select the award winners.
Ribbons are awarded for honorable mentions.
The 14th Annual Art in the Park Celebration is held in scenic Fred
Fuller Park which provides a picturesque setting for this event with an
estimated attendance of over 15,000. Guests enjoy artists exhibits,
demonstrations, free childrens activities, music & wonderful food.
