Passport
Project's Brazilian Weekend is an immersion in the rhythm, dance, song,
melodies and spirit of Brazil! Ze Renato (of the legendary quartet,
Boca Livre) and Cacau Arcoverde (who has performed, taught and
exhibited his art work internationally), of Brazil, lead separate
workshops, and then come together at our Brazilian Party as the
culmination of the weekend's festivities. Ze Renato's trio presents a
free concert for children!

Following are the details of the weekend: 
 
BRAZILIAN PERCUSSION AND DANCE WORKSHOP with CACAU ARCOVERDE! Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday: July 6-8 
Friday: 6-9PM; Saturday and Sunday: 5-8PM. 
Brazilian percussionist/singer/dancer/producer and keeper of 
tradition, Cacau Arcoverde, has performed and taught in locations 
as diverse as universities of Brazil to Broadway. In this 3-day 
workshop, Cacau shares rhythms of Samba, Samba de Coco, 
Coco de Roda, Ciranda and Maracatu, and the respective 
dances. This workshop focuses on tradition, and hands-on 
experiences. Students perform at Passport Project’s 
Brazilian Party! $125 - $300 
(sliding scale) for all three days 
 
ZE RENATO's PERFORMANCE/WORKSHOP, Sunday July 8: 
2:15-3:00PM - Forró Pras Crianças: An upbeat, interactive 
exploration of Brazilian music for children. Free/donations for
children. 
Adults $8. Free for Nighttown ticket holders. 
 
3:15-4:30PM: Workshop for musicians of all levels with a focus 
on melodic instruments, voice, phrasing and rhythms. Bring your
instruments. 
$10-$15 (sliding scale). FREE for those registered for Cacau Arcoverde’s 
workshop and for Nighttown ticket holders. 
 
BRAZILIAN PARTY! July 8, 8:15PM: Open to all. 
CD Release Party for Cacau Arcoverde, with Moises 
Borges and Ki Allen and special guests. $10-$20. Open to all/Free to 
Cacau Arcoverde workshop participants. Donations 
bar including caipirinhas and light refreshments.
