CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM presents
SPAWN OF THE PETROLSEXUALS,
by Cleveland playwright Christopher Johnston,
OPENING THIS FRIDAY AT THE LIMINIS

convergence-continuum continues its 2007 season at the Liminis theater
with a world premier. It's a brand new work by Cleveland playwright,
Christopher Johnston, who wrote SPAWN OF THE PETROLSEXUALS especially for
the company's actors and designers, performance space and production
style. He was also inspired stylistcally by underground comics and graphic
novels for this play.

SPAWN OF THE PETROLSEXUALS will take you to a dysfuntional dystopia
in the not-too-distant future -- a world where most of the oil is gone.
What's left is controlled by powerful overlords and their mutant
commandoid enforcers. Without energy, society has crumbled. There you
will join the wild misadventures of Angerboy, Holyman, Ingen and
Freegrrl, holed up in the remains of a closed Big-Box store.
They're homeless. They're Superheroes. They're both. Or so they say.

For this production the Liminis has been converted into the L-Mart, the
hideout of our scruffy superheroes. There will be video segments
accompanying the live action, and some music, too. The ensemble cast
includes convergence-continuum regulars Jovana Batkovic, Lucy
Bredeson-Smith, Arthur Grothe, Geoffrey Hoffman, Tom Kondilas and Wes
Shofner, plus newcomers to the Liminis stage, Lauren B. Smith and Bobby
Williams. Artistic director Clyde Simon directs.

SPAWN OF THE PETROLSEXUALS opens Friday, July 13 and runs Thursdays,
Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm through August 11, at the Liminis, 2438
Scranton Rd in Cleveland's historic Tremont neighborhood. Tickets are $12
general admission, $9 for students and seniors (65+). For reservations
and information call 216-687-0074 or visit us on the web at
