POINTE OF DEPARTURE TO PREMIERE NEW BALLET AT CAIN PARK=20

Cleveland, OH - Pointe of Departure returns for their seventh season at the=
 Evans Amphitheater in Cain Park, Cleveland Heights, on August 3, 2007 at 8=
:00 pm for one night only.=A0=A0 Karen Gabay and Raymond Rodriguez, co-arti=
stic directors of the classical ballet troupe, lead the eclectic ensemble f=
or another evening of dance that has become an annual favorite among Clevel=
and audiences.=20

Resident choreographer and co-artistic director, Karen Gabay, will premiere=
 her new ballet, Tea for Two.=A0=A0 It is a light-hearted parody of famous =
ballet repertoire including Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" and Chopin's "Le=
s Sylphides."=A0=A0=20

Also on the program is Gabay's "Gare du Midi" and "2-2 Tango."=A0=A0"Gare d=
u Midi," set to the music of Leonard Bernstein's "Divertimento for Orchestr=
a," was originally danced by the Cleveland Ballet in 1994, and was Gabay's =
first choreographic work. The sultry, sexy ballet, 2-2 Tango, showcases the=
 ballet dancer's versatility with tango, combining vocabulary from both dis=
ciplines and styles. A compilation of various tango composers including Ast=
or Piazolla, it is a ballet that even the most novice audience member will =
enjoy.=20

All eleven Pointe of Departure dancers are returning to Northeast Ohio from=
 the United States, Argentina, Cuba, the former Soviet Union, and China to =
share their diverse talents.=A0=A0 Each will be featured in the evening's p=
rogram, and many of them will return this holiday season when "The Nutcrack=
er" is presented at Playhouse Square.=20
