SRTC’S “ROCKIN’” SUMMER REVIEW FEATURES HITS FROM CHICAGO, MAMMA MIA, AND
GREASE!

Kicking off their 28th season, St. Richard Theatre Company presents their
third annual Summer Workshop production, “Broadway’s Rockin’ Review,”
featuring music from some of Broadway’s most exciting rock musicals,
including Chicago, Footloose, Grease!, Evita, Tommy, and Hair, among many
others, on August 3 and 4, 2007, at Magnificat Center for Performing Arts,
20770 Hilliard Boulevard, in Rocky River.

This summer’s review features 24 students, ages 14 to 18, who participated
in SRTC’s intense musical theatre workshop, a six-week program designed
specifically for high school students with interest in the performing
arts. Throughout the workshops, the students study acting and
improvisation, proper vocal technique, stage combat, physical health, and
many dance styles, including jazz, modern, tap, and hip hop. SRTC
Artistic Director, Nathan A. Lilly says, “…in our workshops, the students
learn more about ‘the process’ behind being an actor, [which] helps them
expand their skills as artists, and builds up their confidence as
performers. You won’t find this type of program anywhere in Cleveland!”
SRTC has been producing theatre for the community for nearly three
decades. Since his tenure, Nathan A. Lilly has expanded programming for
the company, which now includes acting workshops, dramatic ministries, the
annual stage production in the spring, and now the annual review in the
summer.

The staff of professional artists includes Lilly, as acting coach and
dance instructor, Brad Wyner as vocal coach, Shelby Dennstedt as acting
and movement coach, and Bryan Homyak as dance instructor. Each artist
provides direction in their respective discipline for the production,
which features students who are residents of North Olmsted, Westlake,
Olmsted Falls, North Ridgeville, Columbia Station, Strongsville, North
Royalton, Parma, and Rocky River. The elements the students learned this
summer will be presented in a professionally staged review on August 3 and
4 at 7:30 p.m., at Magnificat Center for the Performing Arts, 20770
Hilliard Boulevard, in Rocky River.
