      Solon Center for the Arts ends its summer
activities with Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll
Along” on Thursday through Sunday, August 9 through
12. Performances are at 7:30 pm except for Sunday,
August 12 which is a 4:00 pm curtain. The show is
directed by Kristina Ferencie with musical direction
by Bill Shaffer.

      “Merrily We Roll Along” begins in the present
and moves backwards, tracing the lives of wealthy,
jaded composer Franklin Shepard (played by Solon High
School senior and president of Drama Club, Ben Martin)
and his two estranged friends through each milestone
of their personal and professional lives. The show
ends with a touch of rueful irony, as the three best
friends at the start of their careers face a bright
future - young, talented and enthusiastic about the
world waiting to be conquered.

      The other leading characters include Kelly
DiTurno as Mary Flynn, Grant Johnson as Charlie
Kringas, Atlie Gilbert as Gussie Carnegie, Paul Yochum
as Joe Josephson and Grace Falasco as Beth Spencer
Shepard.

      Also in the cast are Melissa Cartellone, Mary
Csarny, Mirelle Dawoud, Elizabeth Eidner, Elyse Frank,
Steven Gazdag, Mike Gerhart, Codie Higer, Marissa Ho,
Ryan Ho, Lauren Jaffe, Will Kraizel, Molly Lashner,
Bethany Lewis, Jeremy Myeroff, Allison Pohle, Brittany
Rhea, Olivia Scicolone, Kristi Sherman, Lindsay Simon,
Kyle Skaggs, Stephanie Vlk and Andy Weyenberg.

      Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and
students and are available at Solon Center for the
Arts Box Office or can be purchased by phone with a
credit card.

      Solon Center for the Arts is located at 6315 SOM
Center Road on the corner of Bainbridge Road and SOM
