I.)  EXPERIENCED ACTOR, DIRECTOR TO TEACH MUSICAL THEATRE AUG. 17

            An experienced director, actor, dancer and singer will be
teaching musical theatre classes Friday, Aug. 17 at The Turning Pointe
School of Dance, 2387 Locust St. S., Canal Fulton, Ohio.

            Scott Posey of Tallmadge, Ohio, has performed on stages at
colleges, universities, community centers and other venues. He has performed
in dozens of productions such as "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Brigadoon," and
"Little Shop of Horrors."

Classes are offered on the last day of the two-week Workshop II at The
Turning Pointe. Students not enrolled in Workshop II are welcome to sign up
for the musical theatre workshop. Classes are $20 per student and the
advanced class is $25 per student.

Musical theatre classes Friday, Aug. 17:

Beginner Musical Theater: 10:30 -11:30 a.m. (ages 8-11)

Intermediate Musical Theater: 12:00 -1:00 p.m. (ages 10 and up)

Advanced Musical Theatre: 1:30 -3:00 p.m. (ages 12 and up)

Advanced musical theatre students should bring prepared song with music, and
also a prepared monologue if they have one. All students are welcome to
bring prepared pieces - but they are not required.

Posey, who has a bachelor's degree in musical theatre and master's degree in
advanced acting, also has directed dozens of productions. He directed "The
Mikado" and "Pirates of Penzance" for Cleveland Opera on Tour, for which he
is an associate artist. He also directed "A Christmas Carol" for the Players
Guild of Canton and "Sweeney Todd" for Weathervane Playhouse.

II.)  Turning Pointe School of Dance Open House/Fall Registration

The Turning Pointe School of Dance, home of the Ohio Youth Ballet, will have
Open House and Fall Registration 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug.
18 and 19 at 2387 Locust St. S., Canal Fulton. 

Come to register for classes, tour the studio and meet teachers. Enjoy light
refreshments and a drawing for prizes such as T-shirts and class discounts. 

III.)  Turning Pointe School of Dance Fall Semester begins Sept. 4

The Turning Pointe School of Dance begins its Fall Semester Sept. 4. Classes
are in classical ballet, jazz, tap, tumbling, line dance, ballroom dance,
modern/lyrical, cheer dance, creative movement, break dance, hip hop,
musical theatre, pilates and more. Classes for children to adults and from
beginner to advanced.
