Hi NEOPALs,

We just secured our location, but were unable to switch the dates, hence
our short notice...

We are shooting the climax sequence for the (relatively) long in the
making feature film, The Unseen Place. We are about 60% of the way
through principal photography, and this scene will take us past the 85%
mark! Much more information can be found at http://theunseenplace.com,
but below is some qualifying information.

Who we need: All ages (especially children, see website for more
details on content), races and genders welcome. Performers will be
portraying members of a religious cult in the mid 1970s. Performers
should be able to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs. We
are filming in an old abandoned factory which has been cleared of
harmful substances like asbestos and black mold (anybody remember my
shoot at the old Days Inn on Rt 8?), but is still a place where injuries
can happen if one is not sure footed. I need at LEAST 50 people, so
bring friends and family to make sure we have enough to get started!
The more, the better.

In addition to the above, Caucasian male actors are needed for roles as
the cult leader's enforcers in the scene that involve both dialogue and
mild stunt work (they talk and shoot and die).

All of the roles will involve multiple scenes and contain at least one
monologue (spoken in unison), with opportunities for other dialogue
throughout both days. Perfect for actors looking to add speaking roles
and featured roles to their resume! Because of the short notice, some
of the actors I originally chose for some of the featured roles may not
be able to attend. In this event, I will cast on the set from who
arrives, so if you're not obligated to another shoot or acting event,
come on down. There is something of substance for everybody.

The bulk of shooting will take place August 25. The actors who wish to
perform the roles of the enforcers will be needed both the 25th and the
26th. The shoots will last from 9 AM each day, through day light hours
to the end of the day, with the bulk of the cult crowd shoots going from
10 AM to 2 PM. Of course I can use actors more extensively, the longer
they can stay. I will (cheaply) feed and hydrate the cast and crew.
Additionally, the sign-in release is also a deal memo entitling those
who sign to receive rolling breakeven pay (pay you get if the film turns
a profit and accrues enough to be able to pay everybody on the list at
least $50 per person (if my profit is only a few hundred dollars and a
hundred or more people show up, all the money will be spent cutting
checks in the amount of one dollar and mailing them out)).

Where to come: The factory address is 77 16th Street South West in
Barberton, 44203. There will be signs indicating where to park.

See theunseenplace.com <http://theunseenplace.com> for more info on what
to wear, but as a rule of thumb, no clothes that one would not have seen
in 1975 (jeans, flannel shirts or tees are okay for guys, old country
dresses, nothing fancy for gals). Some muted hippie wear is okay, but
no tie dyed clothes, it won't work for the aesthetic of the scene. NO
CLOTHES WITH OBVIOUS LOGOS/ADVERTISING!

Visit the site, email me or call me at (330) 608-8760 with ANY
questions. We might be getting some radio air time for this shoot, so
watch NEOPAL postings for announcements!

My previous feature film Sugar
<http://home.earthlink.net/%7Eshallowfocus/sugar/sugar.html> took in
awards and nominations at major film festivals all over the country, and
was screened in several internationally as well. The Unseen Place is
adapted from a screenplay I wrote almost 10 years ago, which spun off
our film festival award winning made for TV (go figure) series, Seeing
<http://home.earthlink.net/%7Eshallowfocus/seeing/seeing.html>. Plans
for The Unseen Place include a packaging tie in with reduxed edits of
Seeing. So if you worked on Seeing, and liked your experience, then
support your time investment in Seeing by helping The Unseen Place rise
to its full potential! One will certainly benefit the other.

I know this is short notice for many, but the location had to be perfect
or the climax was going to have to be rewritten. Thanks in advance for
your kind help and support!
